About 15,000,000 Malinke (synonymous to Maninka) are scattered throughout West Africa. They include the following: Guinea, Mali, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, and Ghana.
They do not form a majority group in any of these countries.
